I have spent most of my life in the field of education in the Western Hemisphere besides teaching and research in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Now at retirement age I wish to contribute something concrete to education in Pakistan. Saving dollar at a time I have gathered some funds with which I could start small school. For my comfortable retirement, I look toward a big town with medical facilities. Although full of pollution and chaos, Lahore is a viable site for my project. It is already full of rich, big schools and I wish to promote lab education lacking in most schools..I should make some progress in this regard. things are kind of dead. I don't even visit my website.

Look at my new online photo album filled with pictures from my vacations, sporting events, and my family. High standard schools

High society schools were established starting in sixties. Fees were high and medium of instruction was English. These schools would cater to rich class. Well dressed students attend these schools creating a distinct social class. This has been upsetting for rest of the population. Now there are American and British schools and schools affiliated with other foreign countries. Many other local schools prefer to adopt a foreign name showing lack of local vocabulary. Other examples of upper class schools are Divisional Public, Beacon house and Missionary schools. Their graduates have better prospects of higher education and jobs. Lots of other private schools try to follow suit. There seems to be a dominant direction of westernization. In this atmosphere, it becomes hard to define and uphold eastern and religious values.
In spite of outburst of English medium schools, it would be safe to say that still 90 percent of schools are in run down state of buildings and teaching facilities. There is lot of scope to improve educational setup in the country.
